With the start of March Madness beginning, I am going to write about the local teams from Illinois and the Midwest as the most exciting two weeks of college basketball begins.

Loyola-Chicago

With their last tournament appearance in 1985, the Loyola Ramblers are looking for a historic tournament run. As an 11 seed, they are looking to take on Miami University, who is a 6 seed. The Ramblers are 28-5 this season and won their conference tournament (Missouri Valley) in order to reach the tournament. (Only Illinois team)

Michigan

After winning the Big Ten tournament, the Wolverines have lots of momentum going into the tournament and were given a 3 seed because of their performance last week. Playing Montana, it is projected that Michigan should beat them, and reporters and analysts have them making a deep run in the tournament.

Michigan State

Also given a 3 seed in the tournament, the Spartans are also very capable to make a deep run under coach, Tom Izzo. After making the Final Four in 2015, Michigan State is taking on Bucknell and should be able to beat them in the first round.
