Meet Latino Leadership

November 19, 2018
What do you get when you mix a group of diverse, passionate young leaders wanting to make a difference? In case you haven’t figured it out by the title, you get Latino Leadership! Now, don’t let the name fool you, being Latino isn’t a requirement; we encourage any Crystal Lake Central student to join. Latino Leadership at its core is a group of students engaging in community service both at Crystal Lake Central High School and in the community. These community service acts include mentoring middle school students and reading to elementary school students. These activities, however, just scratch the surface. The Latino Leadership club is eager to help make a difference in our community. As president, these statements might come off as biased, but here is what some members have to say!
How would you describe the Latino Leadership club to someone who has never heard of it?
“A place where you can feel accepted and included.” – Ariana Robbins (Freshman)
What has been your favorite community service opportunity?
“Leaf raking for the elderly.” – Imelda Villagomez (Junior)
“The Good Shepherd Health Fair at Cary.” – Gerardo Mejia (Sophomore)
If you could describe the Latino Leadership Club in one word, what would it be?
“Supportive.” – Cindy Narciso (Freshman)
“ Family.” – Rachell Cordova (Junior)
