Super Bowl LV Preview

February 3, 2021
Super Bowl 55 has been coined as the Lebron James vs. Michael Jordan Super Bowl. I see it more as a Super Bowl that will represent the passing of the torch from Tom Brady (old generation) to Patrick Mahomes and the new generation of NFL superstars. Brady’s Buccaneers will be facing off against Mahomes’ Chiefs in a Super Bowl full of firsts.
This will be the first time Tom Brady represents the NFC in the Super Bowl. It will be the first time a team has played in their stadium in the Super Bowl as it will be played at Raymond James Stadium, the home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Not only will the Buccaneers be playing in their stadium, but they will also be the home team since the AFC team was the home team last year.
My keys to the game for Tampa Bay is to control the clock and keep Patrick Mahomes off the field for as long as possible. The second key to success for the Buccaneers is to not allow Tyreek Hill or Travis Kelce to have one-on-one coverage with no safety help.
For the Kansas City Chiefs, one of their keys to success is to take advantage of when Tom Brady makes a mistake because it doesn’t happen often, but if you capitalize off the mistakes, you will have a great chance to win. This was demonstrated by the Packers last week when they did not capitalize on his mistake, and it cost them the game. The second key to success for the Chiefs is to not get in third down and long situations that will allow the Buccaneers pass rushers to pin their ears back and T-off on Patrick Mahomes.
With that said, I think by the end of the game, the Chiefs will utter the words, “We’re going to Disney World,” and they will be the first team since the 2003 and 2004 Patriots, led by Tom Brady, to win back-to-back Super Bowls. I am also predicting that Travis Kelce or Tyrek Hill will be the Super Bowl LV MVP.
