The Tigers took home 2nd place overall in the men’s 5000 meters the Women’s team didn’t have a team score due to not having five runners in the varsity race at the Mchenry County cross country invite on August 28th. In the men’s race, Karson Hollander took home first place with a time of 16:34, Jackson Hopkins, the Tigers second runner, finished in 9th place with a time of 17:47. After that, the Tigers put four more runners in the top 30. The top five for tigers men was; Karson Hollander (1), Jackson Hopkins (9), Aiden Shulfer (17), Will Foster (19), and Nate Peyer (27). On the Women’s front Hadley Ferrero had the Fastest girls time for central winning the Girls JV race with a time of 19:41. In the Women’s varsity, the Tigers put 2 in the top 30 with Annie Ferrero (12) and Emma Macke (13). The Tigers Women’s top 5 from both races were; Hadley Ferrero (1 JV), Annie Ferrero (12 V), Emma Macke (13 V), Brynn Matthaei (2 JV), and Addison Bechler (3 JV). For the first meet of the season, the Tigers had some impressive performances and, it will be interesting to see how the season pans out.
