Hi! I’m Katie Ellison and I’m a junior at Crystal Lake Central. I’ve always loved writing as a kid, so last year I decided to branch out and try something new by joining Newspaper Club. I enjoy writing short fiction stories and novels mostly because I can express my creativity in many different ways. Likewise, I also love writing about current events to inform our school community about different activities and events happening in our school. Mainly, I would like to focus on activities and events that may not get as much attention, so that my articles can bring attention and recognition to it from the general student body. I’m also involved in Student Council, NHS, and Spanish NHS which will help me cover these behind the scenes activities by writing about them. I had a great experience meeting new people in Newspaper Club last year, and I hope this year will bring many more fun memories!
